| If you are upgrading from a previous
device that included the Palm Photos
application, the new Media application may
be overwritten by the Photos application in
RAM. This application will show up as
Photos-Foto and cannot be deleted from the
handheld using the Delete command in the App
menu.
There are two options for solving this
issue.
The desktop method
Note: If you choose this method, you'll
have to manually re-install any
third-party software on your device. You
may prefer to use the alternative method on
the handheld, below.
- Perform a HotSync ®
operation.
- Find your handheld's
user folder on your desktop
computer.
- In your user folder, right-click on
the Backup folder and rename it "BackupOld."
- Perform a
hard reset on your handheld.
- Make sure the HotSync Manager is
running (how
to do this).
- Right-click on the HotSync icon in
the System Tray and select Custom.
- Change conduits to "Desktop
Overwrites Handheld" for:
- Contacts (Address Book)
- Calendar (DateBook)
- Memos
- Tasks (To Do List)
- Click Done.
- Perform a HotSync operation.
- Reinstall any third-party
applications manually.
The handheld method
Note: This method involves the use of a
third-party file utility such as FileZ or
Z'Catalog.
- Download an install a third-party
file utility such as
FileZ or
Z'Catalog.
- Using the third-party file utility,
delete the following files*:
- Photos-Foto
- Photos_Foto_enUS
- PhotosDefaultDB-Foto
- PhotoDefaultDBName_enUS
- Perform a HotSync operation.
