| palmOne is aware of an issue which
causes HotSync operations to fail when
synchronizing to a Macintosh with
Treo Voice Dialing installed on the Treo
650.
The Treo Voice Dialing application cannot
be installed from a Macintosh computer. If
the Treo Voice Dialing application is
installed from a Windows computer, or from a
SD/MMC card, and the Treo 650 is
synchronized with a Macintosh, the following
error will occur during HotSync:
Unknown Sync Error [16385]
The smartphone may require a
soft reset after this failure occurs.
The following workaround will allow
HotSync operation to complete successfully:
- On your Mac, navigate to your
user folder.
- In your user folder, open the Backup
folder.
- Delete the VoiceDial.prc file
if it exists in the Backup folder.
- Create a new folder. Name it
VoiceDial.prc
- Attempt a HotSync operation. The
HotSync operation should now complete
successfully.
