| The third-party application Documents To
Go is included in the box with some palmOne
handhelds. If you need help with Documents
To Go, please consult its third-party
developer,
Dataviz.
Size limit
When viewing native Word, Excel and
PowerPoint files, you should be able to open
files of any size, provided you have
available space to store them (how to
check available memory).
However, if you want to save
changes to Word and Excel files, there is a
file size limit:
- To save native Word & Excel
format files: 6MB limit
- To save Word To Go, Sheet To Go
and Slideshow To Go (PDB) format
files: 4MB limit
If you create or edit a Documents To Go
file that exceeds the maximum file size, you
may receive the error "The translator ran
out of memory."
What to do?
First, try to decrease the file size of your
document. You can do this by splitting the
document into multiple documents, or by
deleting unneeded text.
If you prefer, you may wish not to save
changes to documents that exceed the 6MB or
4MB size limit; you will still be able to
view these large files on your handheld, but
you won't be able to save any changes until
you get back to your desk and use your
desktop computer.
